Executive Committee The Executive Committee oversees all duties and operations of SRC business. The committee comprised of the officers of the SRC: the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, and Immediate Past Chairperson oversees the actions and the direction of the SRC. The Executive Committee oversees all duties and operations of the State Rehab Council Rehabilitation Council business. Sue Patalano , Treasurer & Past Chairperson Membership & Nominating Committees The Membership Committee is responsible for reviewing applications and presenting possible members before the council. Possible members are presented before the council with a discussion and then motions for acceptance to be forwarded to the Governor's office for official approval. In its selection process this committee ensures that new SRC members meet the Council's high standards. Upon receiving appointments from the Governor the Membership Committee orients new members to the council. This ensures that all new SRC members understand the roles and responsibilities that they play on the Council. David Acord, Chairperson The Nominating Committee is responsible for securing nominations annually or to fulfill any vacant positions that may arise on the Executive Committee and for preparing a ballot for the yearly elections held at the first meeting of the fiscal year. David Acord, Chairperson Legislative Committee The Legislative Committee monitors new and/or revised legislative policies and procedures. This committee coordinates with the WV Statewide Independent Living Council to schedule and host a joint legislative meeting during the month of December in order to develop their legislative agenda of the WVDRS. The State Rehabilitation Council will research issues, laws, and legislation; and develop information to be disseminated to members of the SRC, legislature, and other disability groups and organizations during the WV legislative session and interim committee meetings. It is the role of the Legislative Committee to educate the Council on specifics of the proposed bills and seek consumer input on the effect these policies may have on people with disabilities. Linda Maniak, Chairperson Annual Report Committee Consumer Satisfaction Survey Committee The Annual Report Committee is responsible for amassing the data to be used in the Annual Report. The committee will assure the report is completed by December 31 st of each year and submitted to RSA, the Governor and legislature. Sheryl Johnson, Chairperson The Consumer Satisfaction Survey Committee has the task of developing and monitoring the consumer satisfaction survey that is distributed to the closed cases of the Division of Rehabilitation Services. This survey is designed to get their feedback on the quality of services received. In August of each year prior to the regular Council meeting, the survey is to be reviewed and contact made with the person supplying the Council with a written report to assure the survey is accurate. Any changes will be brought to the Council for approval. A yearly written and verbal compiled report will be made to the Council by the consultant hired to collect the data. This data is then to be used in the developing of the Annual Report of the SRC. An independent person not affiliated with either Council provides a written summary of the gathered data and makes an annual report oral and written report to be disseminated. Debbie Wanzer, Chairperson State Plan The reviewing of annual Council activities, development of comments, and written presentation in collaboration with the administration of the West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services is the responsibility of the State Plan Committee . The committee will also review any other progress reports required by oversight bodies. The chair of this committee works directly with the DRS liaison responsible for the State Plan . Ron Brown, Chairperson Bylaws Committee The Bylaws Committee will annually review the bylaws in August and recommend any changes that may be necessary to the bylaws. At each regular Council meeting the Bylaws Committee reviews a section of the bylaws to educate members. Ron Brown, Chairperson Resource Development The Resource Development Committee focuses on alternative forms of income for the SRC as their main objective. The committee will research grants, other coordinated services and alternative funding streams to augment Council activities, such as public forums, annual reports, surveys, etc. A notebook with potential grant sources will be kept and copies of requested grants maintained in the SRC office.
